Speaking about Social Media and SEO
One of the most satisfying things I get to do is travel to different cities and talk with people I’ve never met before about ways they can improve what they are doing with social media and search engine optimization (SEO). Does this sound normal? Maybe not. Travel is not so glamorous anymore (let’s hear it for systemic delays and travel drama!) and the time away from home is not ideal, but I swear it is worth it and here is why…
These speaking engagements are such meaningful experiences (for me and I hope for the participants, too) because while I am talking with whatever group I’m talking with, we are able to cut through the theory and get to what really matters for most of us…and that is results.
I walk away from speaking with these audiences feeling like I’ve done something good for people, and I have!
When I speak to a room full of people, I am able to take my consulting experiences, what has worked and not worked, and reach many people at one time. I want to be able to provide value to everyone and that has led to identifying those pieces of advice that make the most impact.
Getting to the ROI of Social Media
The people who attend my talks are often the leaders of organizations for every kind of industry you can think of and while there are many differences in what each of these industry leaders might focus on content-wise, there are some things they all have in common. They are all trying to do the best they can to reach their ideal audiences in order to motivate them to do something. That something may be to register, become a member, buy a subscription, attend a meeting, donate, volunteer, or engage; but all of these things are conversions of some sort and everyone wants and needs those conversions. If you aren’t getting them, you’re failing.
Here is the truth: A million Facebook likes means absolutely nothing if they aren’t moving you closer to your goals. I am thrilled when I can show people how to change that relationship with social media so that they can connect the dots between their social media efforts and return on investment (ROI).
Use These 50 Tips to Optimize Your Social Media Efforts
Over the years I have identified some relatively easy tweaks to make to improve your social media and SEO results immediately. These are changes that will work for anyone and I am all about practical improvements that improve on outcome – these ideas move beyond theory.
There are many ways to improve on what most, if not all, organizations are already doing with their digital strategy and all it takes is some practical application of tactics and tools that get people closer to their end goals.
The slides below feature 50 of these tips captured in a PowerPoint for your enjoyment. I only wish I had a recording to share with everyone because it would explain a lot of these slides better than the few words you see posted on them. [Want to explore having me speak to your group?
